YTB monitors scholars carefully. Five categories trigger permanent termination:
- Criminal conviction — any crime, excluding negligent crimes.
- Double dipping — receiving another scholarship from a Turkish public institution or international organisation at the same time.
- Academic failure — failing to maintain minimum passing grades or failing the mandatory TÖMER prep year.
- Disciplinary action — violating university disciplinary codes, dormitory rules, or Turkish laws.
- Fraud — discovery that false information or fake documents were submitted during application.
Watch-outs
- Termination is permanent. You'll never benefit from Türkiye Scholarships again, and YTB immediately notifies the Interior Ministry, YÖK, KYK, and SGK. The cascade revokes student residence permit, dormitory access, and health insurance — all at once.
- Pause vs. terminate. Under administrative or judicial investigation, the scholarship is paused — stipend payments stop. If cleared, back-payments are issued. If not cleared, the pause converts to termination.
